We are looking for an experienced Senior Shopify Developer to join our growing remote team and play a key role in building, optimizing, and scaling high-performing Shopify stores. As a Senior Shopify Developer, you will be responsible for delivering robust, scalable, and conversion-focused Shopify solutions. You will collaborate closely with designers, marketers, and project managers to transform business requirements into seamless online shopping experiences.
About the Role
This role goes beyond basic theme customization. We are looking for someone who deeply understands Shopify’s ecosystem, including Liquid templating, custom app integrations, performance optimization, and Shopify Plus features. You will be expected to take ownership of projects, provide technical guidance, and contribute to long-term platform improvements.
You’ll work with brands across various industries, helping them improve user experience, increase conversion rates, and maintain clean, maintainable codebases. Your expertise will directly impact business growth and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Shopify Developer, your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining custom Shopify themes and templates
- Building advanced features using Shopify Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks
- Developing and integrating custom Shopify apps and third-party APIs
- Optimizing store performance, page speed, and mobile responsiveness
- Implementing best practices for SEO, accessibility, and UX/UI
- Troubleshooting complex technical issues and providing long-term solutions

Required Skills & Experience
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- 3–5+ years of hands-on Shopify development experience
- Strong expertise in Shopify Liquid, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
- Experience with Shopify Plus, custom checkouts, and advanced APIs
- Solid understanding of eCommerce best practices and conversion optimization
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
- Experience integrating payment gateways, shipping solutions, and marketing tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive mindset
Nice to Have
While not required, the following will be considered a plus:
- Experience with React, Vue, or modern JS frameworks
- Knowledge of headless commerce and Shopify Hydrogen
- Familiarity with CRO tools, A/B testing, and analytics
