Volunteer Opportunity: Graphic Designer (Remote – United States)
Support a Mission-Driven Nonprofit Empowering People in Transition
Are you passionate about visual storytelling, digital design, and building online communities? Do you want to use your creative skills for a meaningful cause? FOUND, a newly approved 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is seeking a Volunteer Graphic Designer to support its Chinese-language media branch. This is an incredible opportunity to contribute to a mission that uplifts individuals navigating transitions—especially those on dependent visas or in periods of identity shift—through community, resources, and advocacy.
FOUND is built on the belief that no one should feel invisible or alone during uncertain transitions. Whether it’s moving countries, navigating visa restrictions, or shifting career paths, our platform provides connection and empowerment through storytelling, cross-cultural understanding, and resource sharing. As we expand our outreach through Chinese-language digital platforms, we are looking for a graphic designer to help shape and maintain our visual identity across key social media spaces.
Position: Volunteer Graphic Designer (Remote)
Location: United States (Remote)
Time Commitment: 4–8 hours per week (flexible schedule)
This role focuses on supporting FOUND’s Chinese-language digital presence, including content shared through platforms like WeChat Official Account, RedNote, and other channels. The ideal candidate is someone who is creative, reliable, and passionate about cross-cultural dialogue, nonprofit communication, and inclusive storytelling.
What You’ll Do
As a volunteer Graphic Designer for FOUND, your work will have a visible impact across platforms, helping to shape how our stories and mission are presented to the world. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Design Weekly Visual Assets: Create engaging visuals for our Chinese-language social media, including article covers, layout elements, illustrations, and infographics.
- Collaborate with the Bilingual Content Team: Work closely with a team of content creators and translators to maintain visual consistency and ensure that designs align with FOUND’s mission and tone.
- Adapt Designs for Other Platforms: Occasionally adapt graphic assets for additional platforms such as Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and other media channels to maintain cross-platform branding.
- Enhance Readability and Engagement: Suggest visual improvements that enhance layout, reader comprehension, and audience engagement—especially for WeChat articles and long-form posts.
This is a highly collaborative role that allows you to use your creativity while making a meaningful contribution to an early-stage nonprofit.
Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who understands the nuances of design for bilingual or cross-cultural audiences and is eager to contribute their talents to a growing organization. Our ideal candidate possesses:
- Native-level proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and strong English communication skills, particularly in reading and understanding bilingual content.
- Strong design skills with an eye for storytelling, layout, and clarity. Prior experience with WeChat article design, social media layouts, or nonprofit communications is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with design tools such as Canva, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite. The ability to collaborate and share work through cloud-based platforms is important.
- Reliability and consistency, with the ability to dedicate 4–8 hours per week to design tasks. We understand the importance of flexibility and welcome volunteers with varying schedules.
- A proactive, mission-aligned mindset. We love working with individuals who are not only skilled but also enthusiastic about social impact and community building.
