Video Editor Remote £35,000 a year London
Video Editor
Full job description
Job Title: Video Editor
Salary: £35,000 per year
Days: Monday-Friday
Environment: Remote
Location: City of London
Start date: Immediately
Interview Length: Approx 2 weeks.
Overview:
This is a hybrid role where you will be working for, not a business but a brand. Specifically, the Jack Parsons Global brand. You will be the superstar who helps us create and edit engaging video content for the Jack Parsons Global brand.
Named UK’s kindest leader, Jack Parsons Global has motivated millions of people to flip their duvet in the morning, think positively and grow their careers. Jack Parsons, his executive producer Leon Marseglia and his team create inspiring brands, formats and content, in partnership with organisations, to help maximise impact, brand visibility and engagement.
Are you this person?
This role is for you if you have a love of video editing, are someone who is proud of their work and focus on the details. Like the iPhone is carefully crafted with every single detail being polished, that’s what we want from the output of videos you co-create with us.
You’re a like-minded person, you’re a radiator, not a drain and no task is a problem that we can’t solve together. You come to us with solutions to problems, rather than problems with no solutions (every idea is a starting point to a solution). You are a curious individual who doesn’t just settle for average outcomes.
The Cheers
Every job has cheers and chores, so we’ve broken down for you what these are. We like to be transparent and upfront with the fun bits and perhaps the not-so-fun bits, which are just as (if not more) important.
- Creating creative text animation, motion graphics, and sound design mega trailers for each episode, making this a creative playground dream. You’re not limited to being safe. We want you to be bold, and outrageous (at times) and to think more crazy to create inspiring content.
- Direct coaching, support and positive energy from an experienced executive producer and Jack Parsons himself.
- Direct and honest feedback. Being direct doesn’t mean being rude. We love and believe in the power of kindness. But being kind doesn’t mean being flakey or tip-toeing round. We will be straight with you in both the things you do amazing at as well as things we’d like to enhance.
The Chores
Like we’ve said above, every job has cheers and chores and we are not here to pretend there aren’t chores. Below are some chores you’ll get involved with (you never know, these may be cheers for you too!).
- Working within a branded format. Our formats such as My Duvet Flip have their own set of brand guidelines. This doesn’t mean you can experiment as life is a journey of evolution, not a fixed state and that’s the same with our brand guidelines and formats.
- Iterations, iterations and iterations. We like to iterate and segment things up. So this may mean rendering a video with just the cuts. Then receiving feedback on those clips and re-rendering. This would move to adding motion graphics, rendering, getting feedback on those motion graphics then re-rendering the latest version again. If this is something you don’t like then this may not be the right job for you. We are not about rendering video output v1 and calling it done.
Digital tools you’ll be using:
- Adobe Premiere Pro
- Adobe After Effects
- Frame.io
- Google Drive
- Vimeo
- Artlist.io
- Epidemic Sounds

Sourcing B-roll Footage

Sound Design
The editor will create an immersive audio experience by incorporating sound effects, ambience, and dialogue. This involves sourcing, editing, and mixing audio elements to complement the visual components and elevate the overall production quality.
Background Music
The editor will select, edit, and integrate background music that supports the video’s mood and message. This includes sourcing royalty-free tracks, ensuring proper licensing, and timing the music to sync perfectly with the video sequences.
Motion Graphics
The editor will design and animate motion graphics to enhance visual storytelling. This includes creating dynamic visual elements such as lower thirds, titles, and infographics that add a fun and playful touch to the video content.
Text Animation
The editor will animate text to create engaging and informative visual displays. This includes designing text sequences, selecting fonts, and applying animation techniques to ensure that text elements are visually appealing and effectively convey information.
Colour Grade / Correction
The editor will perform colour grading and correction to ensure visual consistency and enhance the overall look of the video. This involves adjusting colours, contrast, and brightness to achieve the desired aesthetic and mood.
Transitions
The editor will design and apply seamless transitions between video clips to maintain a smooth and coherent flow. This includes using various transition effects like cuts, zooms, slides, and wipes to enhance the visual narrative.
File/Name/Version Management
The editor will manage the organisation and version control of all video project files. This includes naming conventions, file storage, and keeping track of different versions to ensure an efficient and organised workflow.
Video Cutting
The editor will cut and trim video footage to create concise and compelling narratives. This includes selecting the best takes, removing unnecessary segments, and ensuring smooth cuts that enhance the storytelling.
Micro-Clip Editing
The editor will create short, impactful clips from longer video content. This involves identifying key moments, editing them into standalone micro-clips, and optimising them for various platforms such as social media with motion graphics, text animations and more.
1% Ing
The editor will apply the “1%” principle, focusing on making small, incremental improvements to the video content with each new project. This involves refining details, enhancing quality, and continually seeking ways to improve the final product and process by even 1%.
