Social Media Specialist || Job Description
Western Digital is looking for a Senior Social Media Specialist to be part of its social media team, as part of Global Corporate Marketing. The right person for this role will research and understand Western Digital’s audience (both existing and potential) and will strategize the best ways to present Western Digital content on platforms including Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. You will make decisions about which platforms and social-media posts are the right fit and how to best construct promotion campaigns on each channel.
You will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people at the company. The Senior Social Media Specialist will be responsible for scheduling, posting, monitoring, and measuring content across all owned social channels; in addition to driving paid media and organic strategies across social media channels.

What You’ll Do || Social Media Specialist
- Serve as the main user of corporate Social Media Specialist tools, including content publishing, competitive analysis, social listening, asset management, paid, and approvals.
- Develop paid media strategy by creating comprehensive campaign plans (audiences, channels, budgets, timing, ad messaging, etc.) based on best practices, understanding of each social channel, and keyword/audience research.
- Effectively plan budgets and execute high volumes of campaigns across multiple platforms to achieve traffic and engagement goals.
- Build and deliver executive-level, data-driven presentations to share campaign results, content insights, and track follower growth with key stakeholders.
- Knowledge of paid media best practices and experience with industry tools (e.g. Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads, YouTube Ads, Google Ads).
- Work closely with editorial, design, and copywriting teams to optimize, schedule, and promote social content.
- Contribute to content brainstorms and campaign optimization to maximize return and key metric growth.
Social Media Specialist || Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience successfully managing Social Media Specialist channels for a global brand, creative agency, or publication.
- Proficiency in social media management platforms and tools (like Sprinklr, Hootsuite, Sprout Social), with experience utilizing them to optimize engagement and track performance metrics.
- Proven ability to present, interact with, and deliver campaign results for stakeholders up to an executive level.
- Ability to meet deadlines and post to Social Media Specialist accounts in real time, with little need for oversight.
- A strong presence: you can be present and thoughtful in review meetings, have the agility to pivot and adapt execution as the strategy evolves, and can take direction/critiques well.
- Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Analytical mindset with the capability to interpret data, track key performance indicators, and make data-driven decisions to enhance social media strategy.
- Keeping updated with industry-related and cross-vertical Social Media Specialist trends.

- An employee’s pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to
- (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience;
- (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job;
- (3) performance, contribution and results;
- (4) geographic location;
- (5) shift;
- (6) internal and external equity;
- (7) business and organizational needs.
- The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York. This range may be modified in the future.
- You will be eligible to participate in Western Digital’s Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance. Depending on your role and your performance, you may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan. Please note that not all roles are eligible to participate in the LTI program, and not all roles are eligible for equity under the LTI plan. RSU awards are also available to eligible new hires, subject to Western Digital’s Standard Terms and Conditions for Restricted Stock Unit Awards.
