Shopify Expert Needed for SEO Audit & H1 Structure Implementation (US-Based Preferred)

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Shopify developer to conduct a comprehensive SEO audit of our e-commerce store and properly implement H1 heading structures across all site pages. This role requires a deep understanding of Shopify’s technical framework, theme customization (including custom-coded elements), and best SEO practices for improving organic search visibility.

🔍 What We Need:

Our site has grown significantly, and now we want to ensure that our SEO foundations—particularly heading hierarchies and semantic structure—are optimized to support continued growth in organic rankings. We’ve prepared a structured plan that includes page-specific H1, H2, and H3 tags. What we now need is a skilled Shopify developer who can implement these changes carefully and correctly.

The project includes three primary components:

  1. SEO Site Audit
    • Conduct a full review of our current Shopify store’s SEO structure, focusing on heading tag usage and how it aligns (or conflicts) with SEO best practices.
    • Evaluate the use of H1 tags sitewide and identify potential SEO issues that might be impacting search engine visibility.
    • Review how headings are rendered in the current theme and identify conflicts due to custom coding.
  2. Custom Theme Code Navigation
    • Our theme includes custom code and modifications. The right candidate must be experienced in navigating and editing custom Shopify themes without breaking existing functionality.
    • Work safely within the theme’s code base to ensure any changes preserve the original design and features of the site.
    • Use best practices to future-proof changes for potential theme updates.
  3. Implementation of Heading Structure & SEO Optimization
    • Implement H1, H2, and H3 tags based on the structure we provide per page.
    • Ensure each page has a single H1 tag that reflects the main keyword/topic.
    • Maintain a logical heading hierarchy that supports accessibility and improves content scanning for search engines.
    • Optimize other minor SEO elements if necessary (e.g., meta descriptions, title tags, canonical tags).

We’re looking for someone who meets the following qualifications:

  • Shopify Expertise
    Demonstrated experience working with Shopify’s platform and theme architecture. Knowledge of the latest Shopify updates and limitations around headings and SEO implementation is essential.
  • SEO Understanding
    Solid understanding of technical SEO, specifically the importance of a semantic and properly ordered heading structure. You should know how heading tags impact indexing, keyword relevance, and user experience.
  • Custom Code Proficiency
    Proven ability to work within custom themes and edit code without breaking or disrupting existing functionality. Experience with Liquid, HTML, and CSS is essential.
  • Detail-Oriented
    You must be precise in your implementation and capable of cross-checking updates against provided instructions.
  • Problem-Solving Skills
    Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and identify conflicts within complex custom theme setups.
