You are looking for a senior-level full-time (8h/day, 40h/week) remote position and are excited about working with a high-growth global team (US, Europe, Asia) providing SEO services.
Well-organized and detail-oriented, the SEO Strategist is responsible for developing and executing Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Content strategy to drive organic search performance for ScaledOn’s clients. The ideal candidate has a strong aptitude for SEO strategy, content writing, and copy editing and prides themself on developing well-rounded SEO strategies encompassing on-page and off-page tactics.
While your hands-on work will be focused primarily on SEO content, you have a strong grasp of SEO overall to guide the overall strategy, update clients, and coordinate non-content SEO work with other resources. You’re adaptable to change and comfortable communicating across a team to ask questions and clarify action items.
A quick learner with a high desire to learn, grow, and adapt in an ever-changing industry, you’ll stay on top of industry news and collaborate with other team members on SEO strategies and best practices. As a team player, you understand that your work and support are essential to our success. Time management is a strength – you prioritize meeting deadlines, asking questions, and communicating delays appropriately. Last but not least, you’re resourceful and able to work independently, staying focused, and on-task in a remote work environment.
Role Overview
The SEO Strategist will be responsible for developing SEO strategy for ScaledOn and our clients, as well as coordinating the execution of on-page and off-page SEO tasks with team members and freelance resources. Based on monthly website crawls, algorithm updates, and SEO best practices, the Strategist will adapt strategies and tactics accordingly, keeping internal and external stakeholders informed. The SEO Strategist will collaborate with the management, team members, and freelance resources to determine the scope of work to be executed monthly and how to divide and conquer the work for maximum benefit for our clients within allocated hours. We are looking for a proactive, well-organized person, who will bring a friendly and approachable demeanor to the team and with our clients. The primary hands-on focus will be SEO content development, including content gap analysis, keyword research, content cluster identification, new content development, and existing content optimization.
Major Responsibilities
- Use ScaledOn tools to conduct monthly website crawls of clients’ websites to determine prioritization of work within client budgets and according to client’s scope of work.
- Coordinate execution of non-content work with technical SEO resources, based on priority of tasks from an SEO impact perspective.
- Develop overall SEO strategy for ScaledOn and our clients, pivoting strategies as needed based on client goals and algorithm shifts.
- Executing keyword research and monitoring competitor trends and opportunities
- Making content recommendations to clients, for their content development, to include keywords, header structures, and other SEO factors.
- Developing new SEO content for clients to drive organic traffic to their websites.
- Writing meta titles, meta descriptions, and alt text attributes. Optimize anchor text.
- Using proprietary and subscription tools such as GA, GSC, Brightlocal, SEMRush, Ahrefs, etc. for SEO optimization.
- Track important SEO performance metrics and flag important changes to the SEO and Client Success teams.
- Work with the team to build SEO case studies based on the data and results.
- Communicate with clients about their business goals and work with team members to propose solutions and strategies that meet their needs through email and Zoom meetings.
- Work alongside Paid Media and Amazon teams to develop integrated strategies and solutions for ScaledOn clients
- Work proficiently with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, and Presentations).
- Perform WordPress tasks and basic HTML changes; basic CSS and JS are a plus.
- Create or improve existing documentation, processes, or checklists.
- Keep pace with the current state of SEO, website visibility, and usability trends.
Must Haves
In addition to the traits detailed in “About You”, you possess:
- Passion for SEO and digital marketing.
- 4+ years experience in Content Writing and Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
- Expertise in SEO tools like SEMRush, Ahrefs, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Brightlocal, and the like.
- Expertise in Google Analytics or other analytics tools.
- Firm understanding of Google Docs, Google Sheets, Gmail, Drive, Slack, and Asana.
- Understanding of ranking factors and search engine optimization best practices, especially as they relate to on-page SEO.
- Positive attitude, high levels of integrity, autonomy, and self-motivation.
- Confidence, proactivity, attention to detail, reliability, strong communication skills, teamwork, initiative, and organization.
- Strong, confident spoken and written English language skills to communicate with our team and US-based clients.
