We’re on the lookout for a Senior Product Designer to join our dynamic ModelOps team at GitLab. This role involves working on our ModelOps product, designed for data science teams to build and integrate data science workloads within GitLab. As a Senior Product Designer, you’ll collaborate closely with the Engineering Manager, Product Manager, and a growing Engineering team. With a strong design system already in place, you can dive right into solving complex problems for the entire ModelOps offering. Although you will be the sole Designer for the ModelOps team, you’ll have design peers in the AI-powered space to support and collaborate with.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design for DevOps: Leverage your experience with DevOps, either as a user or designer, to enhance our ModelOps product.
- Machine Learning & Data Science: Utilize your knowledge of machine learning and data science concepts to inform your design decisions.
- Interaction Design: Apply your strong interaction design skills to create intuitive and effective web applications.
- Technical Expertise: Work within highly technical and complex environments to deliver top-notch design solutions.
- Research Skills: Conduct your own research using various methods and make informed decisions about when to undertake research.
- Startup & Enterprise Experience: Benefit from having worked in both startup and enterprise environments, bringing a versatile approach to your design process.
About the Product Design Team: Our Product Design team at GitLab supports various teams by becoming experts in our stage group, understanding the entire product, and staying aligned with user and business goals. We closely partner with Product Management and Development, owning our design judgment. Our process begins with identifying a problem and always prioritizes the best user experience.
