The Pitch: It’s a fun job with a great team. You’ll be working at the very forefront of science, writing about breakthrough technologies, disruptive innovation and technology start-ups on a daily basis. We are on the hunt for a creative, enthusiastic self-starter to write about the latest deep tech for our clients in R&D. You are skilled at taking complex science and technology topics and communicating clearly to both lay and expert audiences. Naturally curious, with a keen eye for detail, your writing skills will be second to none, elevating our editorial outputs to the next level. You are a critical thinker, enjoy working within teams and can champion and improve upon our editorial process. Fixed-term contract for 3-months on a part-time working arrangement (approx. 2 days per week) or committed freelancers considered. Write clear, thought-provoking copy for a variety of audiences across deep tech topics • Science and Technology Writer Review and quality control of editorial outputs •Science and Technology Writer Ensure the accuracy of all information, data and referencing • Science and Technology Writer Work within editorial processes to ensure editorial outputs are of the highest quality and standards • Collaborate with our community of scientists and technologists • Science and Technology Writer Contribute to thought leadership and outbound content You are expected to gain exposure to a wide range of emerging technology topics, such as: • AI and machine learning • Autonomous and unmanned systems • Biomanufacturing • Climate data & analytics • Digital Twins • Future aerospace concepts • Human-machine interfaces • Nanomaterials • Neurotechnologies • Next-gen renewables • Quantum sensing • Satellite communications • Space propulsion concepts • Synthetic Biology Schedule: • Approx. 2 days per week (FTC) or committed freelance arrangement • Remote and flexible working considered REQUIREMENTS • Minimum 8 years writing experience in science and technology fields to both expert and lay audiences • Corporate/professional writing experience • Ability to think on your feet, connect the dots, communicate with team members • High level of attention to detail, personable and flexible • Graduate BSc or BA qualification APPLY Send a maximum two-page CV and a one-page cover letter to careers@outsmartinsight.com highlighting your suitability for this role.
