The Role of Sales Development Representative

The Sales Development Representative plays a critical role in the sales process. Acting as the first point of contact with potential clients, your job will be to engage prospects, identify their needs, and determine if they are a good fit for our solutions. You will work closely with Account Executives to create a robust sales pipeline and ensure a seamless transition from lead to opportunity.

Key Responsibilities of Sales Development Representative

  • Identify and research potential customers in the US market using platforms such as LinkedIn, ZoomInfo, and company databases.
  • Execute targeted outbound campaigns via email, phone, and LinkedIn messaging to engage decision-makers and introduce our solutions.
  • Qualify leads based on company criteria and gather key information on prospect pain points, timelines, and budget.
  • Set up discovery calls and meetings for Account Executives.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all prospect interactions in the CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.).
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to align messaging and improve outreach strategies.
  • Provide regular feedback to leadership on lead quality, prospecting challenges, and market trends.
  • Track outreach metrics such as calls, emails, responses, and booked meetings.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is based in the UK and able to work flexible hours to support US time zones (typically Eastern or Central Time). You should be proactive, organized, and possess strong communication skills. A background in B2B sales or lead generation is preferred, especially within SaaS, tech, or related industries.
