Key Responsibilities for Remote SEO Writer :

As a content writer, your primary focus will be on creating SEO-driven content that not only informs but also ranks well in search engines. You’ll be responsible for writing, editing, and publishing content at a rapid pace, including documentation, tutorials, blog posts, video descriptions, and more. This is a self-directed role, which means you will have the freedom to choose topics, do your own research, and develop content that helps our products and services get discovered online.

You’ll also be tasked with:

1. Content Creation – Writing high-quality content on a variety of topics, ensuring that each piece is optimized for search engines. This includes creating blog posts, tutorials, video descriptions, and documentation that engage the audience and provide value.
2. SEO Optimization – Identifying the right keywords and incorporating them into your writing to improve organic search rankings. You’ll need to know how to perform keyword research, target the right terms, and track search rankings to optimize existing content.
3. Content Editing & Publishing – Refining and polishing your content before publication, ensuring it meets our high-quality standards. Once finalized, you will be responsible for publishing the content.
4. Tracking & Reporting – Using analytics tools to monitor content performance, adjust strategies, and ensure our content is continually improving in terms of rankings and engagement.
5. Creating Graphic Assets – Depending on the content, you may need to create visual elements that complement your written content. A basic understanding of graphic design is helpful but not required.
6. Product & Customer Understanding – Learning about our products, how they work, and how customers use them to ensure your content is both accurate and valuable to readers.

We do ask that if you plan to take more than two consecutive days off or are unable to meet your agreed-upon weekly hours, you update our availability calendar so the team is aware. Other than that, you are free to take time off as needed, without any formal approvals required.

We believe the most important quality for this role is the ability to write high-quality, SEO-focused content. While we value a broad range of skills, the following are the most important traits we are looking for:

1. Availability – Ideally, you can commit to working 30 hours per week. While we offer flexibility, meeting this requirement is key for the role.
2. Flawless Written English – Your writing should be clear, concise, and accessible. You’ll need to explain complex, technical topics in a way that anyone can understand.
3. Expert SEO Knowledge – You should be highly skilled in SEO practices, including keyword research, content strategy, and ranking optimization. You must know how to create a content plan that improves search rankings and be able to execute this with little oversight.
4. Analytics Tools Expertise – You should be comfortable using SEO and analytics tools like Ahrefs, Semrush, GA4, GTM, Fathom, and others. Your knowledge should allow you to answer questions about keywords, competitors, and trends, and also understand what data is useful for refining content strategies.
5. WordPress Proficiency – Experience with WordPress is essential. You should be able to navigate the WordPress ecosystem, publish content, and use plugins and themes effectively. Bonus points if you’ve created websites using WordPress in the past.
6. Experience with Low-Volume, High-Value Keywords – You should have experience ranking content for niche keywords with low search volume but high value. This includes understanding Google’s search engine results pages (SERPs), such as featured snippets, people also ask sections, and video results.
7. Technical Writing Experience – If you have a background in technical writing or have written tutorials and documentation, that’s a big plus. You will need to break down complex processes or concepts into easy-to-follow instructions for our readers.
