Remote Long-Form YouTube Video Editor – $80/Hour (Per Video)

We’re on the lookout for a reliable and professional long-form video editor to join our growing remote team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced editor who understands the importance of clean, structured, and educational content — without the need for flashy gimmicks. If you’re passionate about helping coaching and consulting clients create polished, trustworthy YouTube content, this role is for you.
This position is per-video freelance work, with consistent projects each week and the potential to evolve into a long-term collaboration.
About the Role
As our video editor, you’ll be responsible for producing high-quality, long-form YouTube videos that are clear, professional, and supportive of our clients’ brands. These videos will be designed to educate audiences, build trust, and position our clients as authorities in their fields.
We’re not looking for over-the-top YouTube-style edits, exaggerated jump cuts, or excessive effects. Instead, we value clean editing, strong pacing, structured storytelling, and a polished finish that allows the content to shine.
What You’ll Be Editing
You’ll work primarily with talking-head educational videos and similar formats, with some variation depending on the client’s needs. Content may include:
- Talking-head style educational videos (how-to, coaching, consulting)
- Screen recordings and tutorials
- Property walkthroughs
- Occasional B-roll integrations
Each video will run at least 8 minutes long, with many extending up to 30 minutes. On average, you’ll be editing 1 video per client, per week. At present, we work with 2 clients, so you can expect around 2 videos per week consistently.
The raw footage will be delivered in Log format, so basic color correction and grading will be part of the editing process. Where necessary, we’ll provide B-roll footage, assets, and guidance to help streamline your work. You’ll also receive rough scripts or outlines to guide the narrative structure, though we’ll expect you to take initiative in creating a smooth and professional flow within each final video.
Skills and Tools We’re Looking For
We’re flexible about which editing software you use — whether it’s Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve — as long as you’re highly skilled and efficient. The key is your ability to deliver clean, on-brand edits that enhance clarity and professionalism.
Here’s what we value most in an editor:
- Proficiency in editing software of your choice (Premiere, Final Cut, or DaVinci).
- Sound design skills, with the ability to clean up audio and use subtle background music appropriately.
- Strong pacing and minimalist editing, with smooth transitions that keep viewers engaged without distraction.
- Color correction and grading for Log footage to ensure videos look natural and professional.
- Attention to detail, ensuring every cut, transition, and audio adjustment is seamless.
- Communication skills, including responsiveness to feedback and ability to make minor changes quickly.
- Understanding of YouTube best practices (titles, tags, descriptions) — a bonus, but not required.
- Basic graphic design or thumbnail creation — a nice-to-have skill that could make your application stand out.
Must-Haves
To be successful in this role, you must bring:
- Proven experience editing long-form YouTube videos (please share links).
- A keen eye for detail, ensuring the final video reflects the client’s professionalism.
- Ability to meet weekly turnaround deadlines (1 video per client, per week).
- Availability to communicate during some UK working hours for smooth collaboration.
What We Offer
We believe in building long-term relationships with our freelancers and creating an environment where great work is rewarded. Here’s what you can expect:
- Regular, ongoing work: at least 2 videos per week, with the possibility of more as we grow.
- Clear communication and respect: we won’t micromanage you, but we will give you the support and direction you need.
- Opportunities for growth: as our client base expands, you could take on more projects and responsibilities.
- Bonuses and incentives: exceptional work and reliability may lead to additional perks.
- A professional, collaborative team environment where your skills are valued.
