Experienced Pizza Chef Needed for Luxury Hospitality Team

Position Summary

As a valued member of our culinary team, your primary responsibilities will include preparing ingredients for cooking, such as portioning, chopping, and properly storing food. You will also be responsible for managing food from freezer storage to refrigerator thawing. Accurate weighing, measuring, and mixing of ingredients in line with recipes or personal judgment will be essential. You will prepare and cook food adhering to recipes, quality standards, presentation guidelines, and the food preparation checklist. Monitoring food quality during preparation and ensuring it meets our high standards is key. You will test food to ensure it is cooked properly, using methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing with utensils.

Proper portioning, arrangement, and garnishing of food for service are crucial tasks. You will serve food in the correct portions on appropriate receptacles, ensuring visual appeal and consistency. Safe and appropriate use of kitchen tools is expected at all times. Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen by washing and disinfecting kitchen areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment is a fundamental part of your role. You will also check and maintain the correct temperature of appliances and food, notifying a manager if any product does not meet specifications.

During busy periods, effective communication is essential. You are expected to request assistance as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Following all company, safety, and security policies and procedures is mandatory. This includes reporting maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager, and completing required safety training and certifications.

Ensuring a clean and professional appearance, along with maintaining a positive demeanor, is necessary to uphold our high standards. You will greet and acknowledge all guests according to company standards and communicate using clear, professional language. Teamwork is integral to our success, so supporting your team to achieve common goals and responding appropriately to the concerns of other employees is expected. Adherence to quality expectations and standards is crucial.

Physical demands of the role include standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, as well as moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance. You may be asked to perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Related Work Experience: At least 1 year of relevant experience in a similar role.
• Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience required.
• License or Certification: None required.
