online teachers position Overview
Hudson Global Scholars is seeking highly qualified and experienced part-time online teachers across various subjects. This role requires individuals who are passionate about education and skilled in engaging with students in a virtual classroom setting. As an online teacher, you will be responsible for delivering course content, providing support and guidance, managing the learning process, and ensuring that students meet their academic goals.
A personal commitment to the Catholic faith is not required; however, in some instances, you may be required to familiarize yourself with the essential teachings of the Catholic religion to foster positive student-teacher relationships and facilitate a productive learning environment. Teachers are expected to uphold professionalism and respect all religious beliefs.
Key Responsibilities of a online teacher
- Deliver live, synchronous instruction while also providing asynchronous student support.
- Develop lesson plans and prepare instructional materials to meet course objectives.
- Engage with students in a virtual environment, ensuring an interactive and effective learning experience.
- Monitor and assess student progress, offering personalized feedback and intervention when necessary.
- Maintain regular communication with students, providing academic support and motivation.
- Grade student assignments and assessments within 24 business hours of submission.
- Respond to student and parent inquiries via email within 24 business hours.
- Provide constructive and detailed feedback on student work to enhance learning outcomes.
- Conduct weekly student check-ins and maintain thorough documentation of student progress.
- Establish and enforce virtual classroom behavior guidelines to create a respectful and orderly learning environment.
- Collaborate with Mentor Teachers and Academic Managers to improve curriculum and instruction.
- Adhere to the policies and ethical standards set forth by Hudson Global Scholars and educational governing bodies.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and subject knowledge.
- Assist in implementing school policies and rules to support student success.
- Work closely with international and domestic students, tailoring instruction to diverse learning needs.
- Utilize technology effectively for course delivery, ensuring a smooth and accessible online learning experience.
- In some cases, engage with students from Catholic faith-based programs while maintaining respect for religious values and teachings.
Qualifications and Requirements of online teacher
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited U.S. university.
- For Catholic religion classes, a Bachelor’s degree in Theology from a Catholic university is required.
- Practicing Catholic in good standing (if teaching Catholic religion classes), verified by a letter from a Pastor or Parish Official.
- Experience & Skills of a online teacher:
- Prior teaching experience in an online or traditional classroom setting.
- Strong knowledge of subject matter and effective teaching strategies.
- Ability to communicate concepts clearly and effectively to students.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster a positive and engaging learning environment.
- Ability to manage work effectively, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with virtual classroom management and online learning platforms.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze student performance data and adjust instructional methods accordingly.
- Technical Requirements:
- Computer: Minimum 4GB RAM PC (Windows 10, 11) or Mac (OS 10.7.5+). Chromebook is not currently supported.
- Browser: Firefox (Version 74+ recommended).
- Internet: High-speed internet connection (minimum 5 Mbps).
- Software: Some courses may require Adobe Flash and Adobe Acrobat Reader.
