Who We Are Looking For

At Outschool, we welcome teachers from diverse backgrounds who are passionate about sharing their expertise and knowledge with young learners. While formal teaching credentials are not required, we do have a set of requirements that all educators must meet in order to join and continue teaching on our platform.

Teacher Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be a full-time resident of one of the following countries: United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, or the United Kingdom (Please note that U.S. territories are not included at this time).
  • Must have the ability to receive PayPal payments.
  • Must have expertise, passion, or knowledge in a specific subject area to base classes on.
  • Must adhere to Outschool’s community standards, including maintaining professional and prompt communication with families and the Outschool team.
  • Must comply with our class content policies, ensuring that all courses are secular and objective.
  • Must have access to a reliable and high-speed internet connection (minimum upload and download speeds of 3 Mbps).
  • Must possess the technical skills necessary to successfully conduct virtual classes.
  • Must have a strong command of both written and spoken English.
  • Must verify identity and successfully pass a criminal background check.

What You’ll Do as an English Language and Literature Teacher

As an Online English Language and Literature Teacher on Outschool, you will have the opportunity to create and teach engaging courses that inspire a love for language, reading, and writing. Your classes can range from beginner language lessons to advanced literary analysis. Some possible topics include:

  • English grammar, vocabulary, and writing fundamentals.
  • Literary analysis of classic and modern texts.

Job Type & Compensation

  • Job Type: Contract (Independent Contractor)
  • Pay Range: $10.00 – $50.00 per hour (teachers set their own prices)
