On-Page SEO Specialist (USA-Based)

Are you passionate about driving organic traffic and boosting search engine visibility? Do you have a strong technical background and a deep understanding of search engine algorithms? We’re seeking a skilled On-Page SEO Specialist to join our dynamic digital marketing team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for implementing and managing end-to-end SEO strategies with a primary focus on on-page and technical SEO excellence. This is a key position where your expertise will directly impact traffic growth, keyword rankings, and overall site performance.


Key Responsibilities

1. Develop & Execute Advanced SEO Strategies

You’ll be responsible for creating and executing detailed SEO strategies tailored to our business goals. This includes:

  • On-Page SEO Specialist Conducting comprehensive keyword research aligned with user intent and competitive gaps.
  • Performing search behavior analysis to understand how users interact with our site and similar platforms.
  • On-Page SEO Specialist Analyzing search trends, industry changes, and user expectations to inform ongoing content and site optimization.
  • On-Page SEO Specialist Implementing URL structure strategies, internal linking practices, and crawl budget optimization to maximize site efficiency.

2. Perform Technical SEO Audits

You will lead efforts to ensure that all technical aspects of our websites are optimized for performance and discoverability. This includes:

  • On-Page SEO Specialist Conducting in-depth technical SEO audits using tools such as Screaming Frog, MOZ, Ahrefs, and Google Search Console.
  • Identifying and resolving crawl errors, indexing issues, site speed bottlenecks, duplicate content, broken links, and mobile usability problems.
  • Implementing and optimizing meta tags, header tags (H1–H6), structured data (schema markup), and canonical tags to improve site visibility and clarity for search engines.

3. Collaborate with Web Teams

Your role will include collaborating closely with web developers, content creators, and designers to ensure SEO best practices are baked into every part of the site:

  • Assisting developers with page speed optimization, lazy loading, mobile responsiveness, and efficient code structures.
  • Guiding web designers on SEO-friendly UX/UI principles, accessibility, and semantic HTML.
  • Working within WordPress and its plugins like Yoast SEO to enhance site architecture, fix redirects, and manage sitemap and robot directives.
  • Identifying and fixing redirect loops, broken redirects, and .htaccess misconfigurations.

4. Content Optimization and Gap Analysis

You will play a pivotal role in shaping content that performs:

  • Leading content gap analyses to identify opportunities where our website can outperform competitors.
  • Recommending and helping develop SEO-friendly copy optimized for targeted keywords and user experience.
  • Working cross-functionally with content writers to align tone, structure, and formatting with SEO best practices.
  • Tracking SERP performance, CTR, and bounce rates to improve content strategies.

5. Competitive Analysis & Link Building

  • Conducting competitive research to benchmark performance and identify backlink and content opportunities.
  • Analyzing backlink profiles using tools like Ahrefs and SEMrush to create high-authority, natural link-building strategies.

6. Reporting & Analytics

  • Setting up and managing performance dashboards using tools such as Google Analytics (GA4), Google Search Console, and Tongji (Baidu Analytics).
  • Generating insightful SEO performance reports, tracking KPIs including keyword rankings, traffic growth, user engagement, bounce rate, and conversion metrics.
  • Interpreting data and making data-driven recommendations for ongoing SEO improvements and strategic adjustments.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in technical SEO roles, preferably within an in-house team or digital marketing agency.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Computer Science, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • A development background or working knowledge of front-end coding (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a strong advantage.
  • Advanced proficiency in SEO tools including Yoast, Screaming Frog, MOZ, Ahrefs, SEMrush, and Google’s entire suite of webmaster and analytics tools.
  • Demonstrated experience in WordPress SEO, including troubleshooting redirect issues, plugin configurations, and optimizing themes/templates for SEO.
  • In-depth understanding of ranking factors and algorithm changes for both Western (Google) and Eastern (Baidu) search engines.
  • Solid grasp of performance marketing, conversion rate optimization (CRO), and customer acquisition strategies.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and reporting skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (C1 or native level).
  • Fluency in a second language is a strong plus and highly desirable for supporting international SEO efforts.
