Mobile UI/UX Designer – $60K–$90K | Work in Canada Now!

Join GB Studio as a Mobile UI/UX Designer (Remote | $60K–$90K CAD)
About Us
At GB Studio, we don’t just build mobile apps — we craft experiences that feel alive. Our mission is to design products that users don’t just interact with, but emotionally connect to. Whether it’s a wellness tracker, a fitness companion, or a sports-related social app, we focus on creating visual and interactive experiences that are not only functional but delightful.
With several successful apps already launched and over 1.5 million downloads across platforms, our team knows how to take an idea from concept to global scale. Now, we’re looking for a Mobile UI/UX Designer to help us take our user experience to the next level.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a UI/UX Designer at GB Studio, you’ll own the end-to-end design process — from wireframes to final prototypes. You’ll help transform product ideas and feature lists into mobile-first experiences that feel intuitive, clean, and enjoyable.
Here’s a look at your day-to-day:
- Design app flows for iOS and Android — from onboarding to core features — in Figma
- Translate product goals into user-centered design solutions that feel seamless and scalable
- Build modular, easy-to-navigate design files with organized naming, components, and auto layout
- Create multiple design options for critical screens to test different user paths
- Develop clickable prototypes for internal review and usability testing
- Occasionally design landing pages or responsive web experiences tied to the mobile apps
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and marketing teams for fast iterations and feedback cycles
- Expand our growing design system, building reusable components and consistent UI patterns
Tools We Use
You’ll be joining a team that values clarity and speed — so our design and dev stacks reflect that:
- Design Tool: Figma (our central design hub)
- Communication: Discord
- Documentation & Workflow: Notion
- Developer Handoff: GitHub
- Development Stack (for context): React Native, Expo, React
We Might Be a Match If You…
- Have real-world experience designing mobile-first user interfaces and intuitive app flows
- Are confident leading end-to-end design — from raw concepts to high-fidelity prototypes
- Know what makes an interface not just usable, but shareable — something users talk about
- Are fluent in Figma, using components, variants, auto layout, and clean file hygiene
- Think beyond screens — designing systems and user journeys, not just layouts
- Can communicate effectively with developers to ensure the product matches the design vision
- Thrive in a fast-paced startup culture where ownership, speed, and clear feedback matter
- Take inspiration from top-tier products and have an eye for UI that feels modern and delightful
What You Bring
- A strong portfolio showcasing mobile UI/UX design work (Figma files, case studies, or product links)
- Experience designing for apps that shipped and were used by real-world users
- Understanding of UX fundamentals — including usability, information architecture, accessibility, and behavior design
- (Bonus) Experience with apps in health, fitness, wellness, or gamification spaces
- (Bonus) Familiarity with atomic design principles and building design systems
Why Join GB Studio?
We’re a team that cares about craft, speed, and impact. Every design you ship at GB Studio reaches real users — often thousands — and directly influences retention, engagement, and growth. We don’t believe in long feedback cycles, siloed departments, or meaningless bureaucracy.
Here’s what you can expect:
- High-impact work — Your designs will shape products with over 1.5 million cumulative downloads
- Remote flexibility — Work from anywhere in North America with async-friendly communication
- Fast feedback, low overhead — Small, agile teams with direct access to founders and devs
- Design-first culture — We care deeply about visuals, usability, and how our products feel
How to Apply
We’d love to get to know you. Please send us the following:
- Your design portfolio — A personal site, Dribbble, Behance, Figma link, or PDF is great. We’re looking for strong mobile UI work, especially complete flows and real-world projects.
- A short paragraph on your favorite mobile app — Tell us what you think makes its user experience exceptional.
Final Thoughts
If you’ve ever looked at an app and thought, “This could feel better,” we want to hear from you. At GB Studio, you’ll work on products people use every day — from fitness journeys to mindfulness routines — and help define what makes digital experiences memorable, intuitive, and joyful.
