Key Responsibilities
As a Front Office Medical Assistant, your primary duties will include:

  • Patient Follow-Up: Ensuring patients receive timely updates regarding their care and test results.
  • Data Management: Accurately entering and updating patient information in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, with a focus on Athena EMR.
  • Customer Service: Answering inbound phone calls, addressing patient inquiries, and providing exceptional service.
  • Lab Coordination: Ordering lab tests and communicating results to patients in a clear and professional manner.
  • Appointment Scheduling: Managing follow-up appointments and maintaining an organized schedule.
  • Triage Support: Assessing patient concerns and directing them to the appropriate healthcare provider or department.
  • Clinical Assistance: Providing support to clinical staff as needed, including preparing patients for examinations and assisting with minor procedures.

Essential Skills and Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following:

  • Bilingual Proficiency: Fluency in English and another language is highly desirable to cater to a diverse patient population.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant or a related role.
  • Education: A high school diploma is required, and a Medical Assisting diploma or certification is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using Athena EMR and a strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare procedures.
  • Lab Knowledge: Experience in ordering labs and managing patient care workflows.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on delivering outstanding customer service.

Additional Skills and Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following qualifications will enhance your candidacy:

  • Experience in appointment scheduling and front desk operations.
  • BLS Certification: Basic Life Support certification is a plus.
  • Insurance Knowledge: Familiarity with insurance processes and billing procedures.

Work Environment
This is a fully onsite position located in Goldenrod, Florida. The role requires working Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. You will be part of a supportive and collaborative team that values employee recognition and offers opportunities for professional growth.

Compensation
The pay range for this position is $18.00 per hour.
