we are currently seeking an experienced and skilled Electrical Engineer/Designer to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate with staff to produce precise technical drawings and play a critical part in the design process. Key Responsibilities of Electrical Engineer/Designer – MEP Specialist
As an Electrical Engineer/Designer at Dialectic, you will:
- Perform Calculations and Engineering Design
- Independently conduct calculations and design electrical engineering systems for a wide range of projects.
- Utilize your expertise to create efficient, code-compliant, and innovative system designs.
- Prepare Technical Drawings
- Develop detailed electrical system layouts, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Work on both basic and advanced designs, ensuring high accuracy and clarity.
- Coordinate Cross-Disciplinary Efforts
- Collaborate with other disciplines such as mechanical and plumbing teams to ensure seamless integration of designs.
- Work closely with the BIM department and project management to meet project requirements and timelines.
- Conduct Research and Evaluate Feasibility
- Research new systems, equipment, and technologies to determine their suitability for various projects.
- Provide recommendations based on feasibility studies and evaluate products for application in designs.
- Client Interaction and Relationship Building
- Attend meetings with project managers and senior staff to represent the electrical design team.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure their satisfaction and trust in Dialectic’s services.
- Oversee Project Coordination
- Support project management tasks such as email correspondence, scope definition, schedule management, and quality assurance.
- Address client inquiries promptly and facilitate smooth project delivery.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement
- Engage in project retrospectives and continuous improvement activities to enhance processes and outcomes.
- Take part in Premieres and other organizational initiatives.
- Conduct Site Visits
- Travel independently or with junior staff for site surveys, field inspections, and other on-site activities.
- Mentorship and Training
- Serve as a resource for training or providing assistance to team members as needed.
Required Qualifications of Electrical Engineer/Designer – MEP Specialist
To succeed in this role, you should meet the following criteria for Electrical Engineer/Designer – MEP Specialist :
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience if you do not hold an engineering degree.
- Intermediate proficiency in design software, including Revit and Bluebeam Revu.
- A strong understanding of local codes and amendments, with the ability to apply these codes to system design and calculations.
- Familiarity with the interaction of building structures and MEP systems.
- Intermediate knowledge and proficiency in engineering design principles.
Preferred Qualifications of Electrical Engineer/Designer – MEP Specialist
While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable in Electrical Engineer/Designer – MEP Specialist :
- A bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in the field.
- A Professional Engineering (PE) license.
- Advanced knowledge and expertise in engineering design and systems integration.
