Job Overview

Carolina Academic Press, based in Durham, NC, has been a leader in legal education for more than 40 years. Our Carolina Academic Press (CAP) Online Law division, launched in 2019, helps law schools build new online programs for master’s or JD students, expanding the reach of institutions and growing new revenue channels for them.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Digital Marketing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in digital marketing, content creation, and campaign management. This role requires a strategic thinker who can execute and manage marketing campaigns across various digital platforms, ensuring alignment with our partner schools’ goals and objectives. The specialist will oversee the content marketing strategy, including the creation and curation of blogs, webinars, and social media content.

Location: Remote (East Coast preferred)

Digital Marketing Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development and execution of marketing campaigns across all mediums.
  • Ongoing management of marketing plans to ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Collaborate with a digital marketing agency to ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Manage SEM and SEO tactics to align with overall marketing strategy.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive content marketing strategy, including blogs, webinars, and social media channels.
  • Create and curate engaging content to support partner schools’ marketing efforts.
  • Lead digital marketing campaign projects, encompassing web, SEO/SEM, email, social media, and display advertising campaigns.
  • Stay updated with marketing trends and conduct market research to support marketing activities, while implementing insights to optimize spend and performance based on findings.
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of online education platforms and a comprehensive understanding of diverse legal degree programs.
  • Measure, monitor, and report on campaign performance, assessing against ROI and KPI goals.
  • Provide support for our network of schools across all social media channels.
  • Work closely with various teams to ensure cohesive and effective marketing strategies and execution.

Required Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience developing and managing digital marketing campaigns.
  • 2+ years of experience working with digital marketing agencies.
  • Experience analyzing campaign performance, recommending adjustments as needed, and documenting resulting improvements against campaign goals.
  • Experience creating a content marketing strategy for multiple disciplines and proactively thinking about how this strategy will be incorporated into the overall marketing strategy.
  • Proficiency in SEO/SEM, Google Ads, Google Analytics, WordPress or other CMS, and marketing automation software.
  • Proficient in utilizing SEM Rush, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, and similar marketing tools for SEO analysis, website auditing, and digital marketing strategy optimization.
  • Digital marketing knowledge to identify top-performing keywords, analyze searches, and interpret performance data from our digital marketing agency. Oversee blog content and its performance.
  • Lifecycle campaign management, including initial concepts, implementation, optimization, analytics, and performance evaluation.
  • Experience working with higher education campaigns is ideal.
  • Experience working with a distributed team is ideal.

Other Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and time-sensitive environment, with the need to adjust schedules and approach if subject matter experts fail to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and communicate status.
  • Familiarity with HTML and CSS, or experience with Elementor, is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
