Responsibilities
As a Cook Helper, you will play a vital role in the kitchen by assisting in food preparation and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Ingredient Preparation:
- Portioning, chopping, and storing food.
- Washing and peeling fresh fruits and vegetables.
- Weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients accurately.
- Cooking:
- Preparing and cooking food according to recipes and quality standards.
- Ensuring presentation standards are met.
- Preparing cold foods.
- Kitchen Operations:
- Operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
- Testing foods to ensure they are cooked sufficiently.
- Monitoring food quality throughout preparation.
- Setting up and breaking down workstations.
- Serving food in proper portions and receptacles.
- Sanitation and Safety:
- Washing and disinfecting kitchen areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
- Checking and ensuring the correctness of appliance and food temperatures.
- Following all company safety and security policies and procedures.
- Reporting maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to the manager.
- Completing safety training and certifications.
- Professional Conduct:
- Maintaining a clean and professional appearance.
- Protecting company assets and maintaining confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Communicating clearly and professionally with others.
- Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with team members.
- Supporting the team to reach common goals.
