What You Need to Apply To become a tutor on Preply, you must submit the following:
- A brief description of yourself and your strengths as a tutor.
- A professional headshot.
- A short video introduction to help students get to know you (you can record this directly on Preply when applying).
- A digital copy of your certifications and/or diploma.
- A clear understanding of your schedule and availability.
Once you have registered, our team will review your profile and activate it within three working days. After activation, you will complete a short onboarding process, allowing you to become visible to students and start teaching.

Qualifications and Requirements To qualify as a Preply tutor, you must meet the following criteria:
Required Teaching Qualifications:
- TESL/TEFL Certificate (minimum 100 hours)
- TESL/TEFL Certificate
- TESL/TEFL Diploma Level
- Any other recognized English teaching certification
Additional Requirements:
- Proficiency in English: Fluency and excellent command of the language.
- Educational Background: A university degree in English, Education, Linguistics, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Teaching Experience: Prior experience teaching one-to-one classes, especially online, is highly desirable.
- Teaching Materials: Ability to use or create engaging teaching materials and resources for students.
- Technology Requirements: A high-speed internet connection, a computer with a webcam, and a headset with a microphone.
- Personal Traits: A cheerful, patient, and responsible attitude towards teaching and working with students of all levels and backgrounds.
