UI/UX Designer Jobs – Remote Opportunities in the United States

About the Role
As a UI/UX Designer at Binary Defense, you will be responsible for designing, testing, and delivering user-centered experiences that set the standard in cybersecurity software. Your work will begin with deep research into our users’ needs, exploring how they interact with our products, and translating those insights into seamless experiences. From wireframes and mockups to prototypes and final designs, you’ll help bring our vision to life.
You’ll collaborate closely with our UX Architect, product managers, and development engineers to ensure that our products are functional, visually engaging, and aligned with the needs of our customers. Data-driven decision-making will be central to your work, as you conduct usability testing, A/B experiments, and continuously refine experiences based on results.
Most importantly, you will act as a bridge between user expectations and technical execution—ensuring that Binary Defense’s cybersecurity tools are not only powerful but also intuitive and enjoyable to use.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Partner with the UX Architect and cross-functional teams to drive projects from research to design, testing, and launch.
- Gather and evaluate user requirements by collaborating with product owners and developers.
- Conceive, test, and refine user experience concepts using modern design software, wireframing tools, and A/B testing methods.
- Create and evolve wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and animatics to communicate design ideas.
- Establish and maintain product style standards, including typography, colors, interface elements, and design systems.
- Produce original graphic assets such as images, sketches, icons, and animations.
- Identify and troubleshoot UX issues, including responsiveness and browser compatibility.
- Ensure designs align with user research findings, competitive analysis, and business goals.
- Collaborate with QA teams to ensure design intent translates accurately into the final product.
- Advocate for the voice of the customer, ensuring that design decisions improve usability and satisfaction.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should bring a combination of design expertise, technical awareness, and strong collaboration skills.
- Proven work experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role.
- Bachelor’s degree in UX, Graphic Design, Visual Design, or equivalent professional experience.
- A portfolio showcasing professional design projects and the ability to explain how designs meet user needs.
- Proficiency in Figma, Chromatic via Storybook, and preferred experience with Confluence or Miro.
- Expertise with wireframing, prototyping, and modern design tools.
- Strong understanding of front-end development or awareness of design limitations in HTML/CSS.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in fast-paced development cycles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Self-starter with strong time management and organizational skills.
Bonus Qualifications
While not required, these skills will make you stand out:
- Experience designing for enterprise software environments.
- Knowledge of CSS, HTML, JavaScript, Bootstrap, or other front-end frameworks.
- Prior work with large, complex software products.
- Experience using Product Board, GitLab, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity products and services.
