We are launching an exciting new content series that features immersive experiences with influential athletes and creatives. This series will culminate in live-streamed workshops designed to inspire, educate, and engage a global audience, amplifying voices within the wellness and BIPOC communities.


The Opportunity: Freelance Social Media Manager

Black & Bould is seeking a highly creative, results-oriented, and autonomous Freelance Social Media Manager to build and lead our brand’s digital presence from the ground up. This unique role offers you the chance to shape a compelling narrative, cultivate engagement, and connect with a passionate and growing community.

As our Social Media Manager, you will be responsible for translating Black & Bould’s mission and vision into a vibrant, authentic, and impactful social media ecosystem. You will oversee all social media channels and content strategy, driving growth and engagement as we launch our ambitious new series and expand our audience reach.


Key Responsibilities

Your core responsibilities will span across several critical areas, ensuring the brand voice remains consistent and engaging across all platforms:

  1. Content Strategy & Creation (40%)
    You will develop and execute a creative content strategy primarily focused on Instagram and TikTok, with LinkedIn as a secondary platform. This includes producing original content such as graphics, short-form video concepts, static posts, stories, reels, and carousels that resonate with our audience and reflect Black & Bould’s brand values. Independent content creation will be a major part of your role.
  2. Content Curation & Development (60%)
    You will actively manage and repurpose high-quality photo and video assets generated from content shoots—mostly in Colorado, occasionally in other states—to craft compelling stories and engaging social narratives. This requires strong editorial skills and a creative eye to maximize the impact of existing materials.
  3. Platform Management & Optimization
    Daily oversight of posting schedules is essential to ensure content reaches the right audience at optimal times. You will stay up-to-date with evolving platform algorithms, trends, and best practices to continuously improve reach, engagement, and conversions.
  4. Community Engagement & Moderation
    Engaging authentically with our audience is key. You will monitor comments, direct messages, and mentions, responding promptly and in line with our brand voice. Additionally, you’ll identify and interact with relevant accounts and communities, fostering meaningful relationships while protecting the community by managing inappropriate content or users.
  5. Performance Tracking & Reporting
    Regularly analyzing social media metrics such as reach, engagement, follower growth, and conversion rates (website visits, ticket sales) will inform your strategies. You will provide insightful reports and recommendations to optimize performance and drive business goals.
  6. Brand Voice & Consistency
    Maintaining a consistent tone that is fun, professional, young, hip, and credible is critical. All content and interactions should reflect Black & Bould’s mission and brand identity to foster trust and community connection.

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • At least 3 years of proven experience managing and growing social media accounts for brands, with a strong portfolio showing success on Instagram and TikTok.
  • A highly creative mindset with a demonstrated ability to generate original content ideas and skillfully repurpose raw photo and video assets into engaging social media posts.
  • Deep knowledge of current social media trends, platform algorithms, best posting times, and strategies to boost engagement and audience growth.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills, with proficiency in tools like Canva, CapCut, or basic video editing software.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to independently manage multiple social media platforms and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Reliable internet access and availability to consistently meet the fast-paced demands of this role.
  • A passion for wellness and dedication to uplifting BIPOC communities is highly valued.

Compensation & Contract Details

This is a freelance, part-time role with an annual equivalent pay ranging from $45,000 to $58,000, disbursed semi-monthly (twice per month). Final compensation will depend on your experience, skill set, and alignment with the role requirements.

The engagement is open-ended with either party able to terminate with 30 days’ written notice.
