Hiring for Social Worker
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join the Veterans Health Administration’s Readjustment Counseling Service (RCS) as a Readjustment Counselor at the Savannah, GA Vet Center. This permanent, full-time GS-11 position offers a salary range of $78,876 to $102,536 per year. Applications are accepted from February 21, 2025, to March 3, 2025.

Key Responsibilities:
- Counseling Services: Provide individual, couple, and family counseling to eligible clients, addressing issues related to readjustment and psychosocial functioning.
- Outreach and Referral: Engage in community outreach to identify and connect with eligible individuals, offering referrals and coordinating follow-up care as needed.
- Team Collaboration: Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to internal coordination, collaborative planning, and problem-solving to enhance service delivery.
- Screening and Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments, including evaluating risk factors and psychosocial status, to inform treatment planning.
Qualifications:
- Citizenship: Open to U.S. citizens; non-citizens may be considered if qualified citizens are not available.
- Education: Master’s degree in social work from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
- Licensure: Must hold a current, unrestricted license to practice social work at the master’s level in a state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
- Experience: Demonstrated experience in providing counseling services, particularly related to readjustment issues, is preferred.
Additional Information:
- Travel: Occasional travel may be required, up to 25% of the time.
- Telework: This position is not eligible for telework.
- Relocation Expenses: Not authorized.
