Job Overview of Senior.NET Developer
We are seeking a Senior .NET Developer to join a dynamic and innovative team, specializing in software security and cloud-based solutions. The role offers a competitive salary of £75K–£85K and is primarily remote, with occasional visits to our central London office.
As a key member of the development team, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and securing software applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate best security practices and leverage Azure services to ensure scalability and performance.
We need someone with a Microsoft tech-stack background who has experience as a .NET Developer with Software Security experience, Azure DevSecOps Consultant or even a good old fashioned Unix / Linux Systems Administrator. We want someone with a development / some form of coding background who has blossomed into Software Security / Cloud Security engineer. We NEED for you to have strong Azure skills, NOT AWS…although a blend would be acceptable.
Rather than someone from a bog-standard IT Operations background, we NEED you to have come from a Development background and you MUST have a good grounding within Software Development as you will mainly working with Developers and need to be able speak their language and develop trust with them.
Key Responsibilities of Senior.NET Developer
- Develop and maintain high-quality, secure .NET applications following best industry practices.
- Lead security-focused development efforts, implementing secure coding principles and threat mitigation techniques.
- Architect, develop, and deploy cloud-based applications on Microsoft Azure.
- Implement Identity and Access Management (IAM), OAuth, and other security mechanisms.
- Optimize application performance and security in cloud environments.
- Conduct risk assessments, security reviews, and vulnerability testing.
- Work closely with DevOps and cloud engineers to streamline CI/CD pipelines.
- Mentor junior developers and foster a culture of security awareness within the team.
- Keep up to date with the latest cybersecurity threats and .NET development trends.
Required Skills & Experience of Senior.NET Developer
- Proven experience as a .NET Developer, with a strong background in C#, ASP.NET Core, and Entity Framework.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure, including Azure Functions, Azure App Services, and Azure Storage.
- Strong understanding of software security principles, such as encryption, authentication, and authorization.
- Experience with OWASP security standards and secure coding practices.
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Bicep.
- Experience working with SQL Server and NoSQL databases.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications of Senior.NET Developer
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate, Azure Security Engineer Associate, or CISSP.
- Experience in Penetration Testing or Ethical Hacking.
- Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture and Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC).
