Freelance Video Editor (DaVinci Resolve) – Charlotte, NC
Job Description:
We are looking for a highly skilled and creative Freelance Video Editor with proficiency in DaVinci Resolve to join our team on a project basis. The ideal candidate should be located in Charlotte, NC, as occasional in-person collaboration may be required. As a Freelance Video Editor, you will be responsible for assembling recorded footage into a finished project that aligns with our vision and meets project specifications. You must have a keen eye for detail, strong storytelling skills, and the ability to enhance the visual and audio elements of the video to create high-quality content.
Responsibilities:
- Edit raw video footage into compelling and polished final products using DaVinci Resolve.
- Apply color correction, color grading, and visual enhancements to improve the overall quality of videos.
- Trim and rearrange footage, add transitions, and ensure seamless storytelling.
- Sync and enhance audio, including dialogue, background music, and sound effects.
- Incorporate motion graphics, titles, and visual effects where needed.
- Work closely with the creative team to understand project objectives and ensure brand consistency.
- Implement feedback from stakeholders to refine and improve video content.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Organize and maintain project files for efficient workflow and future reference.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Video Editor, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
- Proficiency in DaVinci Resolve is a must.
- Familiarity with additional editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of video editing techniques, pacing, and storytelling.
- Experience with color correction and color grading.
- Knowledge of audio editing and sound design.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with the creative team.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to receive and apply constructive feedback.
- Understanding of different video formats, resolutions, and compression techniques for various platforms.
- Experience in editing content for social media, promotional videos, commercials, and interviews is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with corporate clients, brands, or agencies.
- Basic understanding of motion graphics and animation.
- Background in cinematography or production is an advantage.
- Knowledge of best practices for video content across social media platforms (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.).
