Email Marketing Specialist Needed (Flodesk & Shopify) – Join a Growing Creative Brand!

Are you passionate about email marketing and audience engagement? Do you have experience setting up email campaigns that drive results? If so, I’m looking for someone like you!

I need a skilled email marketing specialist to help manage and optimize audience-specific email campaigns for a socially conscious, feminist-leaning arts and entertainment brand. This role requires roughly 5 hours per week and focuses on email build-outs, audience communication strategies, analytics, conversion tracking, and segmentation management.

If you have experience in Flodesk, Shopify, and audience segmentation, this could be a great fit!

Who You’ll Work With

You won’t be working alone! Here’s who you’ll collaborate with:

  • Integration Specialist – Ensures that audience segment lists are regularly updated, so you’ll always have the right data to work with.
  • Graphic Designer – Provides support for any design or layout requests to ensure our emails are visually compelling.
  • Me (The Founder) – I’m a writer and create my own newsletter content for audiences who read my book or watch my free video essays. While I handle most of the copy, you should be comfortable proofreading, editing, and curating to improve engagement and sales conversions. If you can draft original copy based on other branded content (blog, website, social media posts), that’s a big plus!

About the Brand & Me

I’m a multi-disciplinary artist (Author, Musician, Media Broadcaster) dedicated to creating socially conscious and empowerment-centric digital media. My audience primarily consists of women, LGBTQ+ individuals, neurodivergent individuals, and other marginalized communities.

Most of my content is available for free via social media, YouTube, and Spotify/Apple, but I also run paywalled communities and an e-commerce shop featuring digital and physical merchandise.

My background is in marketing—I hold a Master’s degree in it and was previously the Head of Digital at an agency before shifting to full-time creative work. For the past three years, I’ve been my own marketing strategist, creative director, and sales manager, but as the brand grows, I need expert help—especially in email marketing.

More About the Role of Email Marketing

This role is all about engaging audiences through strategic email marketing. I want to build segmented email sequences that:

  • Keep existing customers engaged and ready to purchase new content or merchandise.
  • Build relationships, trust, and authority with new audience members who haven’t purchased yet.

There is already a Business and Marketing Plan in place to support your efforts. What I need is someone who can execute the strategy and provide data-driven recommendations to improve performance.

Key Responsibilities of Email Marketing

  • Email Campaign Setup & Management – Build, schedule, and optimize email campaigns in Flodesk.
  • Audience Segmentation & Targeting – Ensure that emails reach the right audience segments at the right time.
  • Copy Editing & Proofreading – Improve email copy for readability, engagement, and conversions.
  • Analytics & Conversion Tracking – Monitor campaign performance and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Customer Engagement Strategies – Develop automated sequences to nurture new and existing audience members.
  • Social Media Funnel Optimization (Bonus) – If you have experience linking social media engagement to email marketing, that’s a huge plus!

  • Flodesk & Shopify Expertise – Experience with these platforms is a must.
  • Excellent Copywriting & Editing Skills – You should be able to tweak and optimize content for engagement.
  • Strong Analytical Skills – Ability to interpret email performance metrics and make strategic adjustments.
  • Strategic Thinker – Someone who can execute the existing marketing plan while also making independent recommendations based on industry trends.
  • Reliable & Communicative – I value clear communication and proactive problem-solving.

Your first task? Creating an Email Strategy Document based on the existing marketing plan and customer segmentation.

Tools & Workflow

  • Access Management – We use LastPass to share team logins securely, so you’ll need an account.
  • Content & Collaboration – Copy and graphics are shared via Google Drive.
  • Project Management & Communication – All work and communication will be handled through Upwork.
