Salary Range: $65,000 – $70,000 per year
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM (occasional after-hours catering)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and growth-minded Chef Manager to join our team. This role will oversee the culinary and food service operations, ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our clients. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, sustainability, and team leadership, and is eager to contribute to a fast-growing organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Culinary Leadership: Manage all aspects of the food service operation, including inventory, ordering, receiving, and kitchen operations.
  • Financial Management: Maintain knowledge of P&L accountability and contract-managed service operations. Ensure cost control measures are in place to maximize efficiency.
  • Menu Development: Create innovative and high-quality menus, ensuring diverse, fresh, and locally sourced food offerings. Implement cost control measures and maintain exceptional food presentation.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Champion sustainable sourcing and food production practices. Ensure compliance with sustainability goals while maintaining high-quality service.
  • Compliance & Safety: Maintain a working knowledge of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and enforce food safety regulations. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal food safety standards.
  • Staff Management: Supervise and mentor kitchen and service staff, ensuring high standards of food preparation and customer service. Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team performance.
  • Catering Operations: Oversee occasional after-hours catering services, ensuring seamless execution of corporate events and special functions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum three years of culinary management experience in contract food service, fine dining, or restaurant settings.
  • Strong inventory management and purchasing knowledge to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Extensive knowledge of food and catering trends, with expertise in quality production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
  • Experience with exposition cooking in a high-volume environment.
  • P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience preferred.
  • ServSafe certification is a plus.
  • Ability to manage high-pressure environments with a focus on excellence and efficiency.
