We’re on the lookout for an experienced Manager, SOX who will play a pivotal role in overseeing our Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance processes. This key position is all about leading and managing business processes while ensuring SOX compliance remains a top priority. You’ll have the opportunity to work with the IT SOX PMO, ensuring that new systems and applications are ready for compliance and driving efficiency across the entire SOX environment. What You’ll Do:
As the Manager, SOX, your role will encompass a variety of responsibilities, including:
- Lead and serve as the subject matter expert for SOX business processes, ensuring all actions and decisions align with compliance standards.
- Partner with the IT SOX PMO to identify, assess, and implement new systems and controls as necessary to maintain regulatory compliance.
- Assist in performing the annual SOX Risk Assessment, working with management to evaluate potential risks and develop proactive solutions to mitigate them.
- Lead SOX business walkthroughs with cross-functional teams, ensuring that all processes are well-understood and compliant.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive business control documentation, including process narratives, flowcharts, and risk matrices, contributing to organizational transparency and accountability.
- Address any identified control deficiencies and work with management to implement and monitor remediation plans that ensure continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with leaders in Finance, Operations, Legal, HR, Sales, Engineering, and IT to maintain a robust control environment.
- Work with internal and external auditors to ensure the smooth facilitation of the SOX audit process.
- Identify and drive automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce manual interventions within the SOX environment.
- Provide guidance and training to management and teams on SOX compliance requirements and best practices.
What You’ll Bring:
To succeed in this role, you’ll need the following skills and experience:
- 5+ years of experience in auditing and SOX-related roles, with a strong understanding of internal controls, risk assessment, and process management.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with professional certifications such as CPA or CIA being a plus.
- Extensive knowledge of Sox compliance and control frameworks, particularly COSO, and the ability to apply these frameworks to real-world scenarios.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear, concise manner to all levels of the organization.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess issues and come up with creative solutions that drive improvement.
- A proven track record of collaborating with various teams to enhance compliance and control effectiveness.
- Experience working with Auditboard or similar tools is highly preferred.
